Markdown for AI agents

When an AI tool only needs to read the manual, you do not have to connect it through the connector. The Markdown version of pages, the llms.txt directory or a ZIP with all content downloaded from the panel is enough.

A page as Markdown

Every published public page returns clean Markdown instead of HTML at its usual address when a tool asks for it with the Accept: text/markdown header. There is no separate address ending in .md. You can try it from a terminal:

curl -H "Accept: text/markdown" https://yourbrand.visualbook.pro/logo

The response contains the page’s main content without navigation and footer. The x-markdown-tokens header gives an estimated token count, so the tool knows how much room the text takes. A browser always asks for HTML, so you will not see the Markdown there.

The llms.txt directory

At https://yourbrand.visualbook.pro/llms.txt, AI tools find a plain-text directory in the manual’s main language. The second language has its own, such as …/en/llms.txt. The directory contains:

  • the brand name and description,
  • a list of public pages with links,
  • language versions, a link to the sitemap and to search, if search is turned on,
  • the AI connector addresses – public and signed-in, whichever is turned on,
  • usage rules: public content may be read and cited with attribution; locked content must not be scraped from the site.

Pages excluded from indexing and locked pages are not listed. When the whole manual is locked, llms.txt does not exist. The directory refreshes regularly – a deleted or hidden page disappears from it at once; another change from the panel may take up to an hour to show.

Export for AI agents

You can download the manual’s full content as a ZIP prepared for AI tools – for a Claude project, a custom GPT or Figma AI, for example. Steps:

  1. In the panel, open Settings → Exports and find Export for AI agents.
  2. In a multibrand manual, select the Brand first.
  3. Click Generate public AI export or Generate complete AI export.
  4. When it finishes, download the ZIP with the Download button in the row of the generated export.

The ZIP contains:

  • brand-name-brand.md with the manual text,
  • a structured manifest.json,
  • an assets/ folder with the downloads – logos, fonts and documents.

An export holds up to 500 files and 200 MB, and the ZIP is available for 24 hours. Adobe Fonts are not included, only the family and style names.
