Locked content, search and AI
This page shows how a locked manual, page or file behaves beyond the visitor's browser: in the manual's search, in search engines, in exports and with AI agents. To set up the locks, start with the overview in How access works.
Search inside the manual
- In a locked manual, search works only after unlocking, just like reading.
- Locked files and links do not appear in the results.
- Search finds a locked page only by its title. Its text, sections and files appear in results only after the page is unlocked.

Google and other search engines
- Locked manual:
robots.txtblocks the whole site for all robots,sitemap.xmlis empty and no preview image appears when the link is shared. - Locked page: it is left out of
sitemap.xml,robots.txtblocks it for robots, and the page has no canonical address or structured data.
llms.txt and the public MCP server
- Locked manual:
llms.txtis not available and the public MCP server switches off, even if Enable public MCP server? is on in Settings → MCP. - Locked page: it is missing from
llms.txtand from the public MCP server, together with the pages below it. - Locked file: the public MCP server does not hand it out.
Your AI agent through the AI connector
An agent you connect through the AI connector under your account works with that account's rights. It therefore sees locked pages and files, just like you do in the panel. A Multibrand editor can only use it within their brands.
The agent never reads or changes passwords and allowed domains – locks are set in the panel only. See Permissions and security.

Search is turned off in a static export. Only an Admin can create the export. See Static export.
