What the AI connector is

Every Visualbook is also an MCP server. Connect your AI agent – Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others – and manage the manual faster: the agent creates pages, rewrites text, translates and checks content for you, all with your account’s permissions.

How the connector works

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that AI tools use to connect to applications. Visualbook has it built in at the manual address ending in /mcp, for example https://yourbrand.visualbook.pro/mcp.

Through the connector, the agent reads pages, sections, colors and files and edits them when you ask. Writes take the same path as saving in the panel, so the same rules and permissions apply.

You need no API key and no developer. Paste the connector address into your AI tool and sign in with your panel account.

The connector is included in every Visualbook edition at no extra cost.

What the agent speeds up

  • Manual skeleton – pages and sections from a brief or source material, including text, colors and fonts.
  • Bulk edits – consistent terminology, image alt text, renamed downloads, reordered pages.
  • Translations – finds untranslated text and translates it into the manual’s second language.
  • Quality check – goes through the manual using the panel’s improvement tips and proposes fixes.
  • Answers from the manual – color HEX codes, allowed logo variants, typography rules.

Ready-to-copy prompts are in What the agent can do.

What stays in the panel

The agent deliberately leaves some tasks to you. You do them in the panel:

  • deleting pages, sections and files,
  • users, roles, passwords and access settings,
  • exports and the welcome wizard,
  • checking the look – the agent reads text and structure; you check how a page looks in the browser.

The reasons and other limits are described in Permissions and security.

When Markdown or an export is enough

The connector is a live link the agent also works through. When an AI tool only needs to read the manual, the Markdown version of pages or the AI export ZIP is enough. All three options are compared in Markdown for AI agents.

Questions and answers

How much does the AI connector cost?

Nothing extra. It is included in Designer, Studio and Company. You only pay for your AI tool, such as a ChatGPT or Claude subscription.

Which AI tools can I connect?

There are guides for claude.ai and Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and Gemini CLI, but any tool with MCP support works. See Connect Claude, ChatGPT and others.

Do I need to install anything, such as Node.js?

No. The listed tools connect directly via the address. Node.js is needed only for tools that work exclusively with a local server.
