Questions and answers
Do I pay for Visualbook monthly?
No. You pay once and then use and edit Visualbook with no monthly fees. The number of pages and logos is unlimited. Current prices are on the pricing page.
Which edition do I need?
It depends on who we invoice, not on the number of editors. If you build a manual for a client as a freelancer, you need Designer; as an agency, Studio. A company building a manual for its own brand always needs Company – even if only one person works on it. Compare them in Designer, Studio and Company editions.
Who owns the manual?
With Designer, you as the freelancer; with Studio, your agency; with Company, your company. Licence terms are in the terms and conditions.
What’s included and what can I buy extra?
They differ mainly in who we invoice and who owns the manual, and in how many editors and how much storage are included. You can add editors and storage at any time without changing edition. Company also includes training, import of your existing manual and premium support by phone and online. See Designer, Studio and Company editions and the pricing page.
What happens after I fill in the configurator?
Within 24 hours we set up a trial manual for you on a *.visualbook.pro subdomain, protected by the password demo. For fourteen days you fill it with content and show it to clients for free. We’ll get in touch before the trial ends. See Trial and activation.
What happens once I pay?
Once the invoice is paid, we remove the demo password and the manual is fully functional, including static export. Everything you built during the trial stays. Invoices are due in 14 days.
What’s the difference between the one-hour demo and the trial?
The demo is a one-hour preview; the trial is already your own manual, for 14 days. The Vyzkoušet hned (Try it now) button on visualbook.pro opens the panel of your own test Visualbook for one hour after you enter your email – no registration. You get the trial by filling in the configurator. Neither commits you to anything.
Where does Visualbook run?
On Český hosting servers in the Czech Republic. Visualbook is built on Kirby, which stores content in files, so the manual isn’t tied to any remote database. An SSL certificate is included.
What address will the manual have? Can I use my own domain?
A subdomain you choose, for example yourbrand.visualbook.pro. You can also point it to your own subdomain, such as brand.company.com, at no cost. See Manual address and subdomain and Custom domain.
How many languages can a manual have?
Two at most. A manual can be in one language or in any pair of these six: Czech, English, German, Polish, Spanish and Slovak. The panel is translated into all six, and each editor picks their own language. See Manual languages.
Do I have to translate the second language by hand?
No. Automatic translation via DeepL uses a glossary of branding terms – you just review the translated text and save it. The Translation check tab shows what’s still left. See Automatic translation.
What does the AI connector do and what does it cost?
Nothing extra – the AI connector is included in every edition. You connect your AI agent – such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor – to the manual, and it helps you manage the manual faster: it creates pages and sections, fills in and translates texts, or works through the improvement tips. Signing in through the connector is off by default; support turns it on when you ask. See What the AI connector is.
Can an AI agent break something in the manual?
Only within the limits of your account. The agent has exactly the rights of the account you signed it in with, and it may only edit if you allow it when signing in – the editing option is pre-ticked on the consent screen. It never deletes pages or files – that stays with you in the panel. You can revoke its access at any time in Your account → MCP connectors. See Permissions and security.
Can AI see locked pages?
Not through the public AI connector – it only sees what an ordinary visitor sees, so it never gets locked pages, draft sections or protected files. An agent signed in with your account sees what you see. See Locked content, search and AI.
How is the manual’s content protected?
The manual runs over HTTPS. You can lock the whole manual, individual pages and downloadable files with a password (at least 12 characters) or open them only to company email domains. Editors have roles with different rights, sessions expire after two hours of inactivity and repeated failed sign-ins are blocked. See How access works.
Do I have to remember a panel password?
No. You can sign in to the panel with a one-time code sent to your email. You can set a password later at any time in Your account.
Can I get to my content without Visualbook?
Yes. Once you’ve paid, you can download a static export in Settings → Exports – a working copy of the site without the panel that you can upload to any ordinary server. There’s also a Markdown export of the content for AI tools. If the tab says exports are switched off, support turns them on. See Static export.
Is the manual backed up?
Yes, the hosting provider makes backups according to its own policy. For your own archive, we recommend downloading a static export regularly. See Backup and restore.
What happens if Visualbook shuts down?
We would announce it six months in advance. You’d get the complete working project, including the panel and full editing, to upload to your own server, and we’d transfer the licences it needs to your domain.
Can I cancel the service?
Yes, at any time and without a notice period. The manual is then deleted from the server with no way to restore it, so download an export first. The price paid isn’t refunded. The details are in the terms and conditions.
