Delete a page
You delete a page in the panel with a single confirmation. Deletion can’t be undone, so first check whether hiding the page would be enough.
Steps
Consider hiding the page instead
If you just don’t want to show the page, remove its card or lock it. Page order and visibility compares the options.
Confirm the deletion
The panel asks “Do you really want to delete …?”. If the page has subpages it adds “This page has subpages. All subpages will be deleted as well.” Click Delete.
Redirect the old address
If outside links pointed to the page, use Redirects to send its address to another page, for example the home page. See Page address and redirects.
How to tell it worked
The page is gone from the Pages list and its card from the home page.
Delete several pages at once
- In Overview → Content, click Select in the page list.
- Tick the pages, or use Select all (it selects every page in the current list, including a search-filtered one).
- Click Delete (3) and confirm “Do you really want to delete 3 pages?”.
What gets deleted with the page
- all sections of the page,
- files uploaded to the page,
- subpages – for a group, every page in it; for a Logos page, the detail page of each logo,
- cards that pointed to the page (they disappear on their own).
The home page, Design and Settings can’t be deleted.
Can a deleted page be restored?
If you have a backup or a static export from before the deletion, it contains the page’s texts and files and you can rebuild the page from it. See Backup and restore and Static export. If you have no backup, contact support.
