Visualbook 6.3.2

Better findability in search engines. Every page of the manual has its own description for search engines, multilingual manuals tell search engines which pages belong together, and “Do not index these pages” reliably keeps pages out of the results. Manuals load faster and always open over a secure connection.

Search engines and sharing

  • Each page has its own description in search results and when a link is shared. It is taken from the page's card text in the page's language; pages without a card (such as Logo and Symbol) get a description made from the page and brand name.
  • New SEO title for the home page in Settings, separately for each language. The search preview in Settings shows the new title.
  • Multilingual manuals tell search engines which pages are language versions of each other, so visitors get the page in their language. The sitemap now includes the home page and only pages that really exist in that language.
  • “Do not index these pages” removes the selected page and all pages below it from search results, and you can now also select a page group and a brand page. AI bots still do not load the selected pages.
  • Sharing on social networks shows the brand name, the page language and the sharing image in the page's language, including its size and description.
  • The External link page can have a different address in each language. If you leave the address in the second language empty, the primary language address is used.
  • An address with a trailing slash (/logos/) redirects to the address without it, so search engines see each page under a single address.
  • Logo descriptions on the Logo page for screen readers and image search, now also for logos in the cards on the home page and the Logos page.
  • Tab headings on the logo page carry the background for screen readers and search engines (“Logo for screens – Dark background”), so they are not repeated on the page. The look does not change.
  • The home page's last-modified date for search engines also changes after you edit the heading in Settings or the card selection.
  • The footer links to the Visualbook website in the manual's language.

Speed

  • Pages with YouTube videos load faster. A preview with a play button appears first and the player is downloaded only after a click (for autoplay videos, when the visitor scrolls to them). A page with several videos downloads about 0.3 MB instead of 3 MB.
  • Animated tiles on the home page and in groups start only when they are visible and pause off screen, so a phone responds to touch sooner.
  • The main image of a page (the first image of a gallery, carousel or image section) loads first, the others as you scroll.
  • The Visualbook logo in the footer is sharp on every display and the browser does not download it again on the next visit.
  • The animation library is downloaded only when the first animated tile is almost visible. A phone on which the tiles are not visible right away does not download it at all when opening the home page.
  • The window for connecting an AI agent no longer slows down the first render of the home page.
  • Logos and SVG images have their size in the page code, so the browser reserves space for them before they download.

AI agents and accessibility

  • Agents understand the manual better. In the text version of the page, colours get a table with the name and values (HEX, RGB, CMYK, Pantone …), allowed and forbidden name spellings and logo backgrounds are labelled Allowed/Forbidden, and logo format tables say Yes/No instead of icons. Screen readers hear the same. The look does not change.
  • Page cards have an accessible name from the card heading.
  • Colour controls have names for screen readers: format arrows, the download button and the colour picker in the contrast check. The download menu works with the keyboard (Enter, Space, Esc).
  • Font information (family, designer, foundry) is in the page code right away, so agents and the text version of the page no longer see “Loading font information…”.
  • The public MCP connector can be discovered automatically (server description at /.well-known/mcp/server-card.json and in the /.well-known/api-catalog) and connected from browser-based tools too. Search engines may crawl it (Allow: /mcp/public in robots.txt). Nothing of this is shown behind a global password.
  • Connecting an AI agent returns to the app (for example Claude) after you allow access, also in Chrome.

Security

  • The manual always opens over a secure connection (https). An address starting with http:// redirects the visitor to https:// even if the hosting has no redirect set up.
  • An address with www (www.manual.com) redirects to the manual's address without www.

Core and small improvements

  • The notice in an empty section (icons, font, accordion) has the same spacing below the text as other notices.
  • Kirby core updated to 5.6.2 (maintenance release): more reliable saving of multilingual content and uploading of several files at once, faster sorting of long lists in the Panel.
