Fingerprint in your browser
Your logo is turned into a SHA-256 fingerprint: a 64-character string that changes with any edit to the file. The file itself goes nowhere.
Drop in your logo and LogoProof creates a digital proof recorded on the Bitcoin blockchain. Whenever you need to, it shows the file existed on a given date.
Your file never leaves your browser. Only its fingerprint is sent.
We don’t issue the proof. It’s written to the Bitcoin blockchain, which no one can change after the fact, and anyone can verify it.
Your logo is turned into a SHA-256 fingerprint: a 64-character string that changes with any edit to the file. The file itself goes nowhere.
Public OpenTimestamps calendar servers take the fingerprint and write it into a Bitcoin block within a few hours.
Add the .ots proof and the original file. LogoProof compares the fingerprints and shows the block and the date by which the file provably existed.
Whenever your logo leaves your computer and someone might later ask who came up with it first.
Stamp every option before the meeting, including the ones the client won’t pick.
Show your design existed before the deadline or before a similar one.
An independent timestamp that can’t be backdated, alongside your sketches and emails.
Final logo, logo pack and source files: each with its own proof.
No. The SHA-256 fingerprint is calculated right in your browser, and only that is sent, mixed with a random number. The file can’t be reconstructed from the fingerprint.
OpenTimestamps calendar servers collect fingerprints from around the world and write them into a Bitcoin block in batches, usually within a few hours. Until then the proof holds the calendar’s promise. Once it’s written, verify the proof and download the complete version.
The proof contains only the file’s fingerprint, not the file itself. Verification recalculates the fingerprint and it has to match exactly. Saving or exporting the logo again changes the fingerprint, so keep the exact file you stamped.
It shows the file existed no later than the time it was written to the block. On its own it doesn’t prove who made it. It’s strong supporting evidence alongside sketches, working files, client emails or a contract. How much weight it carries is for a court to decide in a specific dispute.
Yes. LogoProof verifies any OpenTimestamps proof (.ots) with a SHA-256, SHA-1 or RIPEMD-160 fingerprint, whichever tool created it.
Yes. The proof uses the open OpenTimestamps standard and doesn’t depend on Visualbook. You can verify it any time with another OpenTimestamps tool or your own Bitcoin node.
Nothing. The blockchain fees are covered by the operators of the public OpenTimestamps calendar servers, and LogoProof is a free Visualbook tool for designers.
Visualbook is an online brand manual where your client finds every logo variant, colour and typeface. You pay once, with no monthly fees.
